Patrick Ellis has over 60 years experience in the global plastics and rubber industries, where he has worked for a number of multinational polymer producers, including Shell Chemicals, General Electric Plastics, Monsanto Europe, Hercules Europe, Himont, Neste Chemicals and RTP Company. He has been an independent consultant for the last 28 years and has carried out a number of projects for major multinational concerns, such as ExxonMobil, Amoco and General Electric Plastics, as well as European compounders such as Dub Plastiques, British Vita, Polytechs, AlphaGary, Polyplast Mueller, Avient and RTP France.
In addition to the above Patrick Ellis has assisted in the setting up of several compounding operations. He has completed a number of global market studies for Smithers on TPEs and silicone elastomers. He has also written several articles as well as having given presentations on TPEs and silicone elastomers for Smithers.

Joaquim Rius obtained his BSc and MSc in Chemistry with mention in Industrial and Environmental Chemistry at UAB- Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2016. Since then, he has been working in R&D department at Venair Ibérica as a materials chemist and synthetic rubbers formulator. He started his industrial PhD at Venair Ibérica in partnership with IQS-Institut Químic de Sarrià in 2019 under the title “Development of novel dielectric silicones and their application in pressure sensors”. My name is Kevin Klier I am 30 years old and I come from near Melsungen in Hessen (Germany).
In 2018 I successfully completed my mechanical engineering studies with a focus on materials and design.
Since January 2019 I have been a scientific assistant at the University of Kassel. During my work at the University of Kassel I am engaged in the processing of silicone rubbers. I started with the processing of liquid silicone in the injection molding process, the extrusion of solid silicone rubber and the simulation of this process. Since the beginning of this year I am working on the additive manufacturing of liquid silicone rubber.
Beate Ganter studied Chemistry at the RWTH Aachen and received her Diploma in 1995. She stayed in Aachen at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry and researched during her PhD in the field of metalorganic complexes. After she received her PhD she joined in 1998 the Bayer AG (later GE Bayer Silicones, today Momentive Performance Materials) as R&D Chemist for the development of Heat Cured Rubbers. Since 2008 she is a Project Manager in the Marketing Department of the BU Elastomers. She currently focuses on the needs for the next generation of Liquid Silicone Rubbers.
